Far too eager to spend time with her, Morris had only himself to blame as he sat, pungently terrified, in the frayed passenger seat of her rusting Renault. He listened, with ever diminishing optimism, as she throatily sang along to The Smiths' "There is a Light that Never Goes Out", knowing that the wicked grin slashed across her face must mean that she intended to swerve in front of an oncoming double-decker bus.
